Lessons in Spanish with Instant Immersion

by Miriam G Price on September 25, 2009

Instant Immersion Spanish is one of the best basic lessons in Spanish courses available for under $100. It gives you a great start on learning the language and sends you on the right path to becoming fluent. A lot of more expensive lessons in Spanish make grandiose claims about all they can teach you, but the truth is no matter how good the course is you really don’t become fluent in a foreign language until you actively speak it in public and immerse yourself in it. This usually happens when you move to a foreign country or work a job where you interact all day with non-English speakers.

Those expensive courses make a lot of claims but for the most part do not live up to them. Instant Immersion Spanish gives you everything you need to start talking with native Spanish speakers so you can really learn the language through lessons in Spanish and you will save a ton of money with Instant Immersion Spanish as well.

Easy Spanish and Portable!

This course, Instant Immersion Spanish, comes with software that you install on your computer. This is nice because then you can work through the courses without worrying about if you have an internet connection. This is very handy if you want to load the software on a laptop computer and take it with you and do lessons in Spanish anywhere.

If you were to compare Instant Immersion Spanish directly side by side with Rosetta Stone or some of the other programs that are the best available, you would see that it is not quite as good. It does not have all the fancy graphics and videos and games that those programs have. But it is about one tenth the cost of other programs so you get what you pay for.

Cost vs. Quality

For me, I would rather have Instant Immersion Spanish for lessons in Spanish and several hundred dollars in the bank for my trip to Spain or Mexico instead of the fancier program. You will have to decide based on your budget and how you learn. Instant Immersion Spanish is probably more geared towards adults who are motivated to learn Spanish instead of children who you are trying to encourage learning easy Spanish. Everything that you need is there in the Instant Immersion Spanish package if you are willing to work through it and motivate yourself.

Recommendation

My recommendation is to start off with the less expensive Instant Immersion Spanish and see how you do with lessons in Spanish. For many people this will be a perfect tool to pick up the basics and gives you enough of a start to be able to have conversations with native speakers and that is how you will really learn.

If you need help or really want to learn as much as possible before you go, then maybe Rosetta Stone or Rocket Spanish are the lessons in Spanish packages for you. Remember though that you are essentially paying for the same information and the same lessons just in a nicer package. For some people this will be more important than to others. For me, picking up a copy of Instant Immersion Spanish was a no brainer and it turned out to be all I ever needed so I am glad that I did.
